Our Board of Directors volunteer their time to support the mission of inspiring girls to be strong, smart and bold. They meet the fourth Monday of the month, in Anderson.
Mandy Trusas is a proud mother of three children, a dental hygienist, and an owner/office manager of a dental practice alongside her husband Dr. Trusas. She has held numerous leadership roles in high school, college and in the work place and she feels very passionate about teaching young girls to be strong, smart and bold. Mandy joined the Girls Inc. NSV board in the spring of 2016 to help young women find their direction in life and achieve their goals.
Mandy enjoys keeping busy and has volunteered in many local organizations throughout the years. She also loves kayaking, yoga,arts and crafts, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Chris Fazzari has lived in Redding since 2001, when he moved from the Central Coast. He earned a degree in Biology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Chris currently works as a biologist and Environmental Planner for the State. He is the father of two wonderful daughters. His oldest daughter is a talented illustrator, who just earned her undergraduate degree in the Bay Area. The youngest is a local student about to enter high school.
Chris enjoys volunteering for several local groups and being involved with the north state community. Chris volunteered for Girls Inc. NSV for several years before joining the Board in August of 2015.
Ashley was born and raised in Northern California. After graduating from Foothill High School, she obtained a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, SLO. Ashley returned to Redding with her degree and worked locally as a licensed professional civil engineer. With the birth of her second child, Ashley decided to take some time from her profession to spend at home with her daughter and son.
Ashley is actively involved in the local group of the Society of Women Engineers and enjoys hosting outreach events to teach young girls (and boys) about science and engineering. Ashley took on a facilitator role for Girls Inc in 2014 to expand her outreach efforts and help to encourage girls to be ‘strong, smart and bold.’
Lea White was born and raised in Redding CA. She currently serves her community as a mortgage loan originator with U.S. Bank Home Mortgage. Lea is graduating this semester from Shasta College with a degree in psychology, and will be transferring to Chico State in the fall with the goal of earning her bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership. Lea joined Girls Inc. NSV in 2017 because of her desire to assist girls in recognizing their unique and unlimited potential.
Kimberly Ross is a journalist and stay-at-home mom who strives to be “strong, smart and bold” enough to keep up with her own two daughters. She graduated from Chico State, reported for 10 years for the Record Searchlight newspaper, and has also served as managing editor for anewscafe.com. Kimberly is also a member of the Redding Cooperative Preschool. She and her husband Bruce live in Redding with their girls and a small flock of motley chickens.
Lisa Stewart works at Umpqua Bank as a Treasury Management Consultant. She travels all over Northern California for her work, advising the commercial clients of the bank with their cash management needs. She graduated from Chico State in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies and a Minor in Business Administration. Lisa became a board member in 2015 because of her desire to work with girls in the local community and to help them to grow up strong, smart, and bold.
Lisa and her husband Kasey live in Palo Cedro with their 2 young children and pug. She enjoys all outdoor activities that the North State has to offer, especially snowboarding, water-skiing, and golfing.
Lori McNeill joined the Girls Inc. NSV staff in 2018 as Executive Director. She has been an active volunteer in the North State through organizations such as the Society of Women Engineers, Girls Inc., Redding Area Designers and Developers, and AAUW. She has been a co-chair of the North State STEM Career Day event, “Ignite Opportunity”, since its inception in 2014. A Materials Engineer by training, Lori’s career has run the gamut from developing materials for space vehicle applications to helping Fortune 500 companies understand and optimize their investment in the digital world. Lori is passionate about STEM educational outreach and using her data analytics background to address issues in her community. She is a Cabinet Member of the Women’s Fund of the Shasta Regional Community Foundation, and a board member of the Shasta County Foster, Kinship and Adoptive Parent Association. Read More
