Call to Action, Fall Programs, and The SSB Brunch | October 2019

Who We Are

Call To Action.

Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley is searching for community members who are interested in serving on our Giving Tuesday Committee! We need your help in creating a successful campaign by sharing our mission, starting relationships with new donors, and raising as much money as possible - so that we can enrich the lives of girls in the North State.
Please email for more information.

What is North State Giving Tuesday? Shasta Regional Community Foundation developed and launched North State Giving Tuesday (NSGT) in 2014 as an online networking and giving event for Shasta, Siskiyou, and Tehama county nonprofits. NSGT brings the region together as one community, raising money and awareness for our local non-profits during the 14 hour online giving challenge; this year held on December 3rd, 2019.

What We Do

Fall Programs.

Media Literacy: Girls Get The Message

On September 16th, we began our new program in Red Bluff. Salisbury High School girls are learning how to deconstruct the media images we are exposed to everyday and how to combat the social pressures that arise from the different forms of media. Yoga is also being incorporated into the programming, which will allow girls to participate in a healthy activity.

Mad Scientist STEM Workshop

Girls Inc. NSV is excited to present a frightfully fun, one-day "Mad Scientist STEM Workshop" at Simpson University. This limited space event is FREE to girls, ages 6-11. Girls will learn about the different areas of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) through interactive and hands on workshops. Participants will get to take home their creations!

Strong, Smart, and Bold Fundraiser.

The 2019 Girls Inc. Strong, Smart, and Bold Fundraiser was a wonderful success because of YOU. It was a sold out event where we toasted four community members with an awards ceremony, celebrated this year's scholarship recipient, and participated in a fantastic silent auction.

Congratulations to our winners!
