Girls Inc. of the Northern Sacramento Valley inspires all girls to be strong, smart, and bold. We make an impact in the communities we serve by equipping girls with the skills and confidence to access a bright and economically-independent future. By focusing on the whole girl from ages 6-18, we provide life-changing after school programs and experiences that help girls grow up to be healthy, educated, and independent. Our research-based programming is delivered by trained professionals who focus on the development of the whole girl, supporting, mentoring, and guiding girls in an affirming, pro-girl environment. Here, girls learn to value their whole selves, discover and develop their inherent strengths, and receive the support they need to navigate the challenges they face.
Girls Inc. girls live healthy and active lifestyles and are less likely to engage in risky behavior; they are eager to learn, successful in school, and more likely to graduate from post-secondary education; and they display diligence, perseverance and resilience.
Girls increase their understanding of health issues affecting them, their families, and their communities. They develop the motivation and practical skills to take charge of their health today and throughout their lives.

THREE ELEMENTS ARE CRITICAL TO SUCCESSFUL OUTCOMES:
Trained staff and volunteers who build lasting, mentoring relationships. Our staff take the time to engage with families, encourage girls to pursue leadership positions, and serve as role models.
Girls-only, physically and emotionally safe; where there is a sisterhood of support, high expectations, and mutual respect.
Research-based, hands-on and minds-on, age-appropriate, meeting the needs of today’s girls. Our trained staff develop locally-focused programs that ensure girls are exposed to new experiences.
