Ashley was born and raised in Northern California. After graduating from Foothill High School, she obtained a BS in Civil Engineering from Cal Poly, SLO. Ashley returned to Redding with her degree and worked locally as a licensed professional civil engineer. With the birth of her second child, Ashley decided to take some time from her profession to spend at home with her daughter and son. Ashley is actively involved in the local group of the Society of Women Engineers and enjoys hosting outreach events to teach young girls (and boys) about science and engineering. Ashley took on a facilitator role for Girls Inc in 2014 to expand her outreach efforts and help to encourage girls to be ‘strong, smart and bold.’
