WHY DO WE NEED IT HERE?

Girls growing up in the Northern Sacramento Valley today experience a region undergoing growth and change. Risk factors include low median household incomes, high rates of adolescent pregnancy and sexually transmitted infection, low rates of educational achievement, increasing rates of substance abuse and violence. While many valuable resources are available to girls in Shasta, Tehama and Glenn counties, supporters of Girls Inc know more gender-specific programs and opportunities are needed to educate and inspire our girls.
